All Paradigm snare drums play with sensitivity and responsiveness across a wide dynamic range. They have a characteristic fat sound that is very microphone friendly. The wide selection of shell options means you can dial in just the sound you are looking for.

Prices below are for drums made from Keller shells, which have become the industry standard for high quality ply drumshells. These days there are several boutique ply drumshell builders, making the sky the limit when it comes to possible materials and ply configurations. Some amazing options for metal shells have come around recently as well. So, pick your ideal sound. Chances are good I can make it happen for you.

The Paradigm Maple Classic Snares are a prime choice for lovers of old sounds. Like all Paradigm snares, they are extremely sensitive. These shells create a thick sound that splits the difference between crack and thump. See below for available sizes and prices.

Paradigm Maple Snares can be built in a range of thicknesses to suit your taste. 8-ply, 10-ply, or 15-ply shells create different amounts of snap, crackle, and pop. 10-ply shells make outstanding middle-of-the-road snares. 8-ply snares have a mellower sound. 15-ply snares crack like a gunshot. Paradigm Single-Ply Snares are built from steambent shells. A single piece of wood is bent to form the shell, rather than multiple thin plies glued together. These drums have a solid, woody sound that highlights the natural tonal characteristics of whatever wood is used. The shells are available in a wide range of domestic and exotic wood species.
